The one thing I want to share with you today is quite possibly the most common reason people do not get the results they are seeking and here it is: not setting aside a specific time to work their business.
It is critical to schedule time in your day, everyday, to work your business, and to be the most productive you can during that time. When working at home it is extremely easy to get distracted. Believe me, I know. I’ve experienced it myself on a daily basis.
So if you have 2 hours per day to work your business, then during that time, that is the only thing you do. And during that block of time, 80% of your time has got to be in prospecting new people.
Things you are NOT to be doing during this time:
- Checking email
- Engaging in Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc)
- Walking the dog, doing dishes, doing laundry, calling your friends and family (unless you are enrolling them in your business)
- Going to Starbucks
Cleaning up around the house
Things you are TO DO during the 80% of this time
- Talk to people
- Send them to your company presentation
- Follow-up with them and enroll them into your business
During the remaining 20% of your time:
- train your team members
- team calls
Find other time during your day to work on your own personal growth, training (meaning you are getting training yourself, not you training your team), writing blogposts or do videos (if you do these things).
The key, though is that you set aside specific time in your calendar for you to work your business, and you guard that time carefully. You protect that time. Finish up other activities at other times. Maximize the time you have to do the things that will generate you the most income….. and that is prospecting.
This is your business. If you are not getting the results you want, then check your habits. There is an extremely good chance that if you are not enrolling at least 2 people per week, you do NOT have the habits of the successful people in our industry. Get in the right habits. Schedule your time to do your prospecting and get it done… consistently!!!
