What to Do When you Face Obstacles in Your Network Marketing Business

obstaclesNo matter who you are and what your intentions are, you are bound to face obstacles in your Network Marketing Business.  And how you handle those obstacles will determine the level of success you will achieve.

Who knows why exactly we run into roadblocks in our careers? We may not have all the answers but we can certainly do something about it when we face them.

Accept them for what they are; learn from them and use the experience to help you grow into the leader you were called to be.

These obstacles may be related to:

  • Health
  • Family
  • Relationships
  • Money
  • Self-sabotaging thoughts or beliefs
  • Mindset

Among many others.

How you handle your obstacles will make an enormous difference in how your network marketing business grows (or doesn’t grow).  I’ll give you a personal example.

I recently had surgery on my neck to remove a cyst, but in the operating room the surgeon discovered cancer.  Although I am going through radiation treatments for six weeks, I am fortunately not doing chemotherapy.  Now, I have a few choices- I could cry about it and say my life is over, but it’s not.  I could accept it and put my business on hold for the next couple months as I go through treatments and recovery, or I can deal with it and adapt and continue to grow my business.

I would think most people, especially in the USA and Canada have been affected by cancer one way or another, but it is not necessarily a death sentence.

For you, you may have a different obstacle you are facing. But I am telling you that you are here to overcome.  You are meant to overcome.

Sometimes people use obstacles as an excuse not to grow their business.  It’s easy because it’s convenient.  You may have a fear of picking up the phone to call people about joining your business. You may have memories from your childhood of parents or peers telling you that you will never amount to anything.  You may have a spouse or partner who is not supportive of your network marketing business.  And even though you want to make money, you may have issues in accepting it.

obstaclesThere is no limit to the number or type of obstacles you may face.  And there’s no limit to the number of excuses you may come up with to not move forward in your network marketing business.

But here’s the thing you got to think about.  Exactly “WHY” are you in network marketing? What is your burning desire that you want more than anything? Is it to be able to get your spouse out of a job that keeps them from being home with you? To get out of a job you don’t like? To spend more time with your children? To travel?  Is your “why” to spread a message (for example, to reduce obesity in America, to get as many people out of debt as possible, etc).  What are you so passionate about that puts you in a position that you will fight through any obstacle put in your path so that you could meet that goal?

When you figure that out, you are getting close.

Here’s an example: you work 40-60 hours a week in a job that you don’t even like.  Your child has a sporting event that you are so excited to go to, because it’s the last game of the season. You’ve missed every single game this year because of your job. Every week your child asks you if you are going to be there, but you can never go because you are always working.  Finally you have a day that you know you can go, you tell your child that morning before he goes off to school that you will be at that event. Your child is thrilled because you can finally make it.  But then at work, something comes up, and you can’t be there. You face your child later, and see the disappointment in his eyes.  At that moment, you are determined to change things.  To start growing your home business so you can be there for those moments for your kids.

Use that passion and determination in your business every day.  Use that as your fuel to move forward.  Knowing that more than anything that your “WHY” is to be available for your kids, and to be there for their growing up years; that fire that’s in you is what will help you to power through ANY struggles, any obstacles that come your way.

Use Obstacles in Business as Opportunities

Use those obstacles as opportunities to grow you and refine you into the leader you were and are called to be.  You may have no idea the impact you can have on the people around you.  People you haven’t even met yet.  But if you give into your fears and your obstacles, you will never know that.  You have so much more potential than you realize you do.  Way more.

Where to go from here?  Dig down deep and discover what is most important to you and what your reason why is for growing a home business.  Then, make it a daily habit to expose yourself to personal growth and development.  Read books, listen to audios, and watch videos aimed at improving your mindset.   Be the person you were called to be and overcome any obstacles you face as you grow your network marketing business.

I agree with you, Jodi. When they meet obstacles or opposition, many entrepreneurs give up and quit, especially if they do not have a strong enough reason “Why” for doing a home based business.
