Are You Struggling in Your Network Marketing Business?

If you are struggling in this business and are trying to figure out how to have more success, you are most likely focusing on the wrong thing.

Jordan Adler, author of Beach Money, and one of the leaders in our industry, has said, “if you are struggling in your business, then the “How to’s” are not the answer.”


The solution has more to do with what is going on in your mind than a quick “How to”.   It is about focus, belief and mindset.

Are you focusing on the people who say no or the few that will build your business?
Are you focusing on a current small paycheck or the big paycheck that you will get when you succeed?  Are you thinking about the things that are not working or the things that are going right in your business?

How is your belief?  Do you believe in the products you are representing?  Do you believe you can succeed?  You have to know this.  Know in your heart that you have what it takes to have success in network marketing.  If you don’t fully believe in your company or your products, then you might consider changing companies, but that is a topic for another day.

Your prospects are more perceptive than you may think.  They can easily perceive when you are unsure of yourself and lack confidence.  They can tell if you are struggling and because of this, will be hesitant to join you in your business.  They want to know that you can help them get to where they want to go.  They want confidence in you as a leader.  Prospects want to join leaders.

One of the difficulties new distributors have is that they think once they start having success, they will then have more belief they can do it.  The problem is that the prospect won’t want to join you unless you first have confidence and a strong belief in what you are doing.  It is a bit of a catch-22.  You want success in order to have belief, but you have to have belief in yourself before you will start seeing success.

Network Marketing, or MLM, is about 90% mindset and 10% skill.   If you can get your mind right and if you have the heart and desire to succeed, and you are consistent in your daily actions, you can experience amazing success.

So how do you increase belief and improve your mindset?  This may sound overly simple, but change your focus.   Focus on what is going right, not wrong in your home business.

Whether you think positive or negative, you will get more of it.  The more positive your thinking, the more positive your results will be.  The mind is an amazing thing and you can retrain it to think more positively.

Look at the leaders around you.  Chances are they are regular people just like you.  Find out how things were for them when they first got their start.  Big leaders now made a mess of things when they first got involved in MLM.  The leaders you see now didn’t just ‘get there.’  It took a lot of hard work.

What are the leaders doing differently than you? They may have been in the business longer than you, they may have made more phone calls than you, and they may have stronger belief than you.  They also have probably educated themselves more.  Do what the leaders in the industry are doing and have done to get to the level where they are.

Invest in yourself and your business.  There are many great books and CDs and DVDs on Network Marketing, mindset, prospecting, and personal growth.  Leaders like Jordan Adler, Randy Gage, Mike Dillard, Ann Sieg, Todd Falcone, Mark Wieser, and Jonathan Budd have a ton of great information.  Learn from them.

Think about it.  Doctors, lawyers, dentists, accountants, etc all went to college and beyond to learn the skills they needed to do well in their professions.  Treat your business as seriously as these people do.  Educate yourself.  Learn about the industry and learn more about yourself.

You will see a rise in your paycheck as you experience more personal and professional growth.

People do business with those they know, like and trust.  As you gain knowledge, confidence and conviction about where you are going, your posture will change.  The way people perceive you will improve and they will trust you more.  When you know with certainty that you have what it takes to succeed in Network Marketing and that failure is not an option, you will attract more people into your business.

The type of people you attract will change as well.  You will find more people in leadership positions and those with bigger networks of contacts wanting to join your business.

Decide that you are going to succeed.
Believe you have what it takes to succeed.
Focus on the positive things in your business and in your future.
Determine to stay with it until you get the results you are looking for.
Learn more about the industry, yourself, and the leaders around you. The more you know, the more success you will find.

Take ownership of your life and your business.  Go after what you want in life.  Focus on your goals and think about them daily.

Decide.  Believe.  Focus.  Commit.  Educate.
